Lisa Lovelace-Bateman

Lisa w/ Claire and Mandy

Lisa Lovelace-Bateman, 36, is a self-identified urban homesteader. She and her friend met while VPing at her daughters' coop preschool and together they've petitioned the local council to start a community garden at a nearby vacant lot. Her husband, Gord Bateman, works in the Gaming Grant office for the province of British Columbia.

Lisa shops at Moss Street market every Saturday, where she catches up with her friends from Hemma yoga studio. She rides her bike with kid-trailer to Cook Street Village. She has participated in the graffiti removal and annual beach clean. She and Mandy painted the telephone pole closest to her house on Oxford with 3 cheeky monkeys.

During her Psychology degree, minoring in Anthropology, she had several friends who suffered abusive relationships. Both her parents are still alive and live in Oak Bay.

She's the primary spender in the household, allocating the families monthly budget. They have disposable income, which allows Lisa to donate regularly to OUR Place and the Mustard Seed.
